Track-a-holic
What did I do before the internets and the ability to tracks packages?
I recently ordered some new clothes from two different places – it was almost three different places, but I decided to put a hold on the shoe order pending a trip to the Grover City Outlets in the not-too-distant future.
Anyway, one is being shipped via FedEx and is currently in Leetsdale, Pennsylvania (127 miles south of Erie). It arrived in Leetsdale around 10:00 this morning. The other package is being shipped via UPS and just left Earth City, MO (665 miles southwest of Erie) at approximately 4:00 this morning.
Now, the big question is: Which package will arrive first?
Doesn’t that sound just like one of those word problems from seventh grade math class?
You would think the one in Leetsdale would, since it’s so much closer. It’s so close, in fact, that I’m tempted to drive to Leetsdale and pick it up mydamnself. Because, while patience may be a virtue, it’s one of the few I do not possess.
Anyway, I’m betting on the package that just left Missouri this morning.
Why?
Because I’m a track-a-holic and I’ve watched my merchandise languish in Leetsdale for days… DAYS!… while I’m up here in Erie just chomping at the bit to have my precious packages. And the FedEx/Leetsdale package has an anticipated delivery date of Friday, July 17th. This is Tuesday, July 14th. It’s going to take this package three days to travel 127 miles? Gah!
The Missouri/UPS package, on the other hand, is not giving me an ETA.
Are there any other track-a-holics out there who feel my pain?
UPDATE: The UPS package arrived in Columbus, OH at 1:38 this afternoon and then left Columbus at 3:07 p.m. Meanwhile, the FedEx package, according to the tracking information, is still in Leetsdale.
UPDATE: As of 7:03 p.m., the UPS package made it to New Stanton, PA, which is 155 miles south of Erie. The FedEx package? It’s still in Leetsdale. Both packages are now nearly the same distance from Erie.
