Cycling… Yes, Again
Does it get too old too fast if I keep mentioning the gorgeous weather Erie is experiencing? It’s another beauty today.
In other news, I did NOT watch the Michael Jackson memorial services, which seems to have been on quite a few channels. Instead, as it will be for the next I opted for coverage of the Tour de France on the Versus Network. The Americans are doing quite well, with five riders in the top 20. Armstrong is currently in second place, but I believe he trails the leader, Swiss cyclist Fabian Cancellara, by a mere two seconds.
And, speaking of cycling, Dittman over at Venagago-go has a great post about someone who doesn’t know his ass from a hole in the ground or, more specifically, the law as it pertains to motorists and cyclists in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. It’s really odd to me that a supposed cycling advocate would not understand the law as it pertains to bicycles on the roadways. Color me confused.
So, let’s recap: According to this Holden dude, motorists and cyclists do not currently have to share the road (he’s massively incorrect) and even when cyclists get dedicated bike lanes, they have to deal with assholes. And it’s illegal, not to mention dangerous (for pedestrians and cyclists) to ride on sidewalks.
* Heavy sigh *

I never get tired of hearing about good weather *or* cycling. We’ve had some great temps here — very good sleeping weather at night.
And, I’ve been able to string five-days-in-a-row of riding together. I’ll likely make six days tomorrow before the rain moves in.
