Duh
I was talking to a friend earlier today (a friend, by the way, who never updates her blog anymore), making plans to meet for a walk later to enjoy the absolutely GORGEOUS weather we’re having today, when I thought of something I wanted to check on-line. The laptop wasn’t booted up, so I went to grab my iPhone, since that’s how I I check quick stuff most of the time these days. It wasn’t on the end table next to me, where I usually lay it when I’m in the living room, so I got up to look in the kitchen, thinking I set it on the table or counter when I was pouring my coffee. Nope, not there either. Then I got a quick flash of panic in my stomach… had it fallen out of my pocket when I was out walking the dog this morning?
No, asshole, you’re talking on it. Remember… it’s the phone.
In my defense, 95% of the time I use my iPhone, it’s not for the actual phone function.
But, either way, yeah, duh.

Yeah, I’ve had moments similar to that. One morning during my senior year, I’m getting ready to walk to school and I went down to the basement to get some socks out of the dryer. I go upstairs, do some other things and then realize I don’t have the socks anymore. I look all over for them for about 15 minutes and just say “fuck it” and get another pair from the dryer.
I get home that day and go to grab something to eat from the freezer, and lo and behold, there are my socks. And I don’t even remember opening the freezer that morning.
