Why can’t he just admit that he lost, admit that his political career is over (much like his financial management career, I hear) and go away?
What is it with NC-03 candidates? Between McLaughlin and Weber, we must be the laughing stock of all the nation!
Earlier this week (I think it was Tuesday or Wednesday morning) I was bicycling to work and had this flitting thought:
I haven’t heard the names “Joe McLaughlin” or “Delma Collins” in a while. Isn’t that nice?"
And it was, it was very nice…But it wasn’t to last very long. Follow the jump for details.
Primary 2008 over and all that’s left is to clear the battlefields of the dead and wounded. For North Carolina’s 3rd Congressional District, that means sweeping away Democrat Marshall Adame and Republican Joe McLaughlin.
Craig Weber defeated Marshall Adame by nearly 30,000 votes (or 39% of votes cast).
This was, to me, the most surprising contest of all.

It’s Primary Day in NC!
I’m a proud member of the 8.4% of NC’s registered voters that participated in early voting this year, so I’ll not be standing in lines with the rest of Onslow’s voters today.

Joe McLaughlin isn’t the only candidate in NC-03 making the news today. Marshall Adame was spotlighted by the New Bern Sun Journal for more positive reasons, though.
