Election 2008: 10:30pm Update

All of Onslow’s 24 precincts are counted.
President: McCain leads 59% to Obama’s 39%.
Senate: Dole leads 51% to Hagan’s 44%.
NC-03: Jones, Jr. leads 63% to Weber’s 36%.
NC Governor: Perdue leads 50% to McCrory’s 45%.
Onslow County Commissioners: Ikner, Jarman, Keller, Padgett, Midgett lead.
Sales tax referendum is failing 55% to 44%.

2008 Elections: 10pm Update

NC’s presidential race has tightened into a virtual tie. Obama and McCain at 49%.
Senator Elizabeth Dole has conceded her seat and will return to Washington, D.C. in January. Kay Hagan will be the Junior Senator from North Carolina.
The Onslow County Commissioner race has shifted: Ikner, Jarman, Padgett, Midgett, Keller now lead.

2008 Elections: 9:30pm Update

Obama still leads McCain in the state (50% to 48%) but trails in Onslow (43% to McCain’s 56%).
Hagan leads Dole in the state (52% to 43%) but trails in Onslow (46% to Dole’s 49%).
Jones, Jr. leads Weber in NC-03 (67% to 32%) and Onslow (60% 39%).

2008 Elections: Voting Early in Onslow County

North Carolina’s early voting period begins Thursday (October 16th).
The Onslow County Board of Elections will have four sites maintained for the early voting period:

Jacksonville Commons Rec. Center
Swansboro Middle School Annex
Tar Landing Baptist Church
Verona Fire Station

These locations will be open from 8:00am to 5:00pm on weekdays and on Saturday (November 1st) from 8:00am to 1:00pm. [...]
