In case you missed last night’s Twitter flurry (view my profile history), the Jacksonville City Council considered and approved the Comprehensive Bicycle and Pedestrian Transportation Plan.
Councilman Randy Thomas who cast the lone dissenting vote, was confused about the purpose of this plan. Other City residents, such as Mr. Robert Hitch, are also confused.

According to the agenda the public comment period comes before the consideration of the plan. That means if you weren’t able to get [...]

I sold the Silver Rhino yesterday around noon-time. Sylvia asked if I felt liberated. My answer then is the same that I’ll answer now.
Eh. Not so much at the moment…
But I’m highly anticipating next payday, when I won’t have to fork out
$500 for the payment. Or $40 for gas. Or $50 for insurance.
That meant riding [...]

Yet another Jacksonville Daily News poll doesn’t make sense to readers.
Today I discovered the poll to the left regarding the construction of a 75-feet tall building in downtown. No mention of what downtown, where or when this building is being constructed. I searched recent Daily News articles and didn’t find anything mentioning a [...]
Open Letter to the City of Jacksonville RE: Jacksonville Transit Schedule
Posted on July 17, 2008 - Filed Under Activism, Jacksonville, NC, Open Letters | Leave a Comment
Dear City of Jacksonville:
I really do like that Jacksonville has a mass transit system, even though it’s quite limited. I can appreciate that the Jacksonville Transit has a limited number of buses because of a fear of using government monies for public-use facilities and equipment. Often it is the residents who do not use, [...]

Picture it: Jacksonville, NC 2008. It was 5:40ish on a Wednesday afternoon and the traffic was thick on Highway 17/Lejeune Blvd as I was heading Northeast towards Western Blvd. I was in the left lane (anticipating my left turn down Western Blvd towards Mini’s house) and there was a gold Buick sedan to my right. [...]
