Destination: Emigration

It seems that my choice may be a bit better than hers…

Why, Louis Baker, why?
Fatty tells the story.
Ladies and gentlemen, meet racer #845, aka Louis Baker. Louis — feeling the neutral start did not apply to him, but lacking the skill to ignore rules safely - elbowed me as he surged by, then hooked my handlebars and sent me to the pavement.
Louis went on to [...]

Dear Onslow County Library,
How is it possible that you do not have a copy of Jack Kerouac’s Big Sur?
I’ve been reading Marion Blackburn’s most awesome writing blog, Fiction Daily 2. She’s been reading Kerouac recently and has been writing about his work, specifically Big Sur, and it has driven me to want to give [...]

Squeeee!
For zero seconds (according to StatCounter) Dan Klass, yes folks, that Dan Klass, visited Bloviations. He probably vomited shortly thereafter, but that’s the risk you take.
Hi, Dan, thank you for visiting!
The only thing better would be a visit by Wil Wheaton or Steve Clemons. (And how’s that for a set of extremes?)

The ENCblogs.com page (which was really just an empty page promising something soon) is down. It’s not a big deal, except that the sub-domains are also down.
That means Lindell Kay’s Off the Cuff blog, Timmi Toler’s It’s a Toler Thing blog, and Jennifer Hlad’s From Afghanistan blog are all down as well.
Having recently experienced [...]

…to my post (If you haven’t seen the comments there, you should take the time).
But, more importantly, you should read Kay’s direct response on his blog. Because, in that post, Kay has proven that he’s completely missed the point of my criticism of the Jacksonville Daily News.
Lindell thinks I take pleasure in pointing out the [...]
The Jacksonville Daily News: Revealing a Sex Crime Victim’s Name is Bad
Posted on June 7, 2008 - Filed Under Bloggers, Jacksonville Daily News, Mainstream Media, News, Writing | 19 Comments
Lindell Kay at the Jacksonville Daily News made a terrible, terrible mistake: He identified the victim in a sex crime.
The online article has been edited and includes the following disclaimer:
Editor’s Note: Information that mistakenly appeared in the original version of this report has been removed.
But, unfortunately for the victim, there are (at least) tens-of-thousands [...]

I’ve been a long-time listener of The Bitterest Pill. And, I’ve got to tell you, friends and neighbors, there’s not a more entertaining podcast around.
For those of you unfamiliar with The Pill, it’s Dan Klass’s podcast about life in Los Angeles, California. He talks about being a stay-at-home dad, sometimes writer (he worked with Michael [...]

It’s been hard for me to stay active at BlueNC the last few months, but it’s become apparent that I’ve missed something.
Lou (a Friend of Charles Darwin and mine, I hope) posted about recent events that have caused him to pull away from NC’s premier progressive online community and that’s when I really took [...]
