Thomas S. Brock was born and grew up in western North Carolina. During his formative years, he lived in Mooresville, Concord, and Taylorsville, North Carolina. After graduating from Alexander Central High School in Taylorsville, North Carolina in June of 1996, he immediately enlisted into the United States Marine Corps. Thomas reported to recruit training in South Carolina and, after completion, he reported to Camp Lejeune for basic combat skills training and was then assigned to Personnel Administration School for primary duty training. In December, Thomas was assigned to the 2d Marine Aircraft Wing at Cherry Point, North Carolina. After spending three years at the 2d Marine Aircraft Wing headquarters, Thomas was reassigned to Marine Wing Support Squadron 271 and served there until his discharge from the active duty Marine Corps in June, 2000.

In the summer of 2000, Thomas re-enlisted into the Marine Corps’ Active Reserve program and reported to II MEF Augmentation Command Element at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. While serving at II MEF Augmentation Command Element, he was deployed to Djibouti, Africa for 6 months in support of the Global War on Terror. Thomas returned to North Carolina in the winter of 2003 and served the remainder of his enlistment at Camp Lejeune. He was discharged honorably in January, 2005 and almost immediately began his current career as a Civil Servant and remains at Camp Lejeune.

During the summer of 2004, Thomas registered the domain name of BrockNet.net and started what would become BrockNet Media. It was a slow start with only a forum of 15 users, mostly migrated from technology forums. In May of 2005, Thomas launched the Brock Log (http://blogs.brocknet.net/brocklog/), adding a new facet to BrockNet Media. It’s his first real effort at online journaling and has been going strong since.

A year later, BrockNet Media had some growing pains. The demise of the BrockNet forums and inclusion of the EriePressible (http://blogs.brocknet.net/eriepressible/) web-log and the launch of the Onslow County Politics web-log (http://onslowcountypolitics.brocknet.net) were the results. The EriePressible web-log is written by Emma Steinfeld a child-free writer in Pennsylvania.

In February of 2007, BrockNet Media expanded with the addition of the Just Sayin’ (http://blogs.brocknet.net/justsayin/) blog.

During March of 2007, Thomas moved to Jacksonville, North Carolina.

Recently, Thomas has become politically active: He was elected as the Third Vice-Chair of the Onslow County Democratic Party and is responsible for organizing the Onslow County Young Democrats. As a result of this activity, Thomas has closed the Onslow County Politics web-log (http://onslowcountypolitics.brocknet.net) and has transferred the posts to the Brock Log (http://blogs.brocknet.net/brocklog/).
