about me

I was born and grew up in western North Carolina. After graduating from high school in June of 1996, I enlisted into the United States Marine Corps and reported to recruit training in South Carolina. After completion, I reported to Camp Lejeune for basic combat skills and primary duty training. In December, I was assigned to the 2d Marine Aircraft Wing at Cherry Point and served there until being released from active duty in June, 2000.

In the summer of 2000, I reported to the Marine Corps’ Active Reserve program and reported to II MEF Augmentation Command Element at Camp Lejeune. While serving there, I deployed to Djibouti, Africa for 6 months in support of the Global War on Terror. I returned in the winter of 2003 and served the remainder of my enlistment at Camp Lejeune. I was discharged honorably in January, 2005 and began a current career as a Civil Servant at Camp Lejeune, where I remain.

During the summer of 2004, I registered the domain name of BrockNet.net. It was a slow start with only a forum of 15 users, mostly migrated from technology forums. In May of 2005, I launched the Brock Log, adding a new facet to BrockNet. It was my first effort at online journaling.

A year later, there were growing pains. The demise of the forums and inclusion of the EriePressible (http://blogs.brocknet.net/eriepressible/) and Onslow County Politics (http://onslowcountypolitics.brocknet.net) blogs were the results.

Since then, BrockNet changed with the addition of the Just Sayin’ (http://blogs.brocknet.net/justsayin/), HannahBerry (http://blogs.brocknet.net/hannahberry) and Bloviations (http://blogs.brocknet.net/bloviations) and the end of the Brock Log and Onslow County Politics blogs.
