2009 Elections: Candidate Filing is Upon Us
Candidate filing for the 2009 municipal elections will begin Monday, July 6th and end at Noon on Friday, July 17th.
Filing fees (MS Excel) and more information on the municipal elections is available at the Onslow County Board of Elections website.
There are four seats (Willingham Ward 1, Sullivan Ward 2, Thomas (At-Large) and Williams (At-Large) on the Jacksonville City Council which will be on the November ballot. I’m interested to see who will be seeking re-election and who will be signing up to run against them.

Cyndi Brown (Editor at the Jacksonville Daily News) tipped me off on a pending article by Molly Dewitt regarding the level of interest in the upcoming Jacksonville City Council elections. Let’s all keep our eyes and ears open for interesting bits of information.
I realize that there’s lots of talk going around about replacing the “gang of four” (Willingham, Sullivan, Williams and Thomas) but I’m less interested in the talk than I am on who actually lays down the money to file and campaign.
