Onslow Republican George Cleveland argued the state should comply with Real ID because Raleigh is a known location of terrorist cells.

I have no doubt that there are illegal immigrants in the U.S., and I agree with working through ways to secure the border and remove these immigrants. But spying on Americans isn’t the way to do it, Mr. Cleveland. Further, how do you plan to fund the federally mandated REAL ID Act? It’s expensive (upwards of $200 million). Raise taxes?

Why, Mr. Cleveland, I didn’t think you were a tax-and-spend Republican. Guess I was wrong…
