Lou,

Thanks for commenting.

The Jacksonville Daily News have a really bad habit of not reporting on important local events. Instead, they sell too many of their inches for AP stories that have little or no local importance.

I also wouldn't pay for the paper, but luckily I have a co-worker that subscribes. It's interesting the life views one has when The Jacksonville Daily News is their primary news source...Interesting, and quite sad.

To clarify, the first paragraph is the cause and the second the effect, not vice-versa.

It's a shame that on the rare occasion that I find out about an event through the Daily News, it is almost invariably after the fact, with little information about the event, and if I want to actually know something more, I have to look it up elsewhere.

I rarely bother to do more than look at the front page and read Timmi Toler's column (which I actually do at her blog). I do both online because there's no way I'd pay for what the Daily News is providing.

Oh, and I confess I do occasionally read the Letters to the Editor, mostly for the humor value. ...or if I need an excuse to bang my head on my desk.
