Jacksonville’s Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan Workshop: A recapitulation

The time I spent at the Jacksonville Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization’s workshop earlier today was definitely worth the time.
There were a few citizens there the same time I was and we all mostly agreed on the bicycling and pedestrian needs of Jacksonville. The biggest need is a unified system of bicycling/pedestrian trails. The system should include well-maintained sidewalks, safe cross-walks at busy intersections, and connect many of the neighborhoods to each other.
The workshop will help the consultants present the best plans to the Jacksonville City Council. If you were able to attend, thank you. If you weren’t, please email the Jacksonville Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization administrator, Chris Lukasina.
