Friday night I had dinner at the Jailhouse Bar-B-Q restaurant in Jacksonville. The Jailhouse is named such because it’s home is the former Onslow County Jail. The restaurant still has that feeling of imprisonment, but not nearly the negative connotation…More like a prisoner in a barbeque’ed paradise!

Kevin Mertens, an art instructor at Coastal Carolina Community College, will be hosting a reception for his exhibit, Recent Manifestations, tonight from 6pm to 8pm. The exhibit will be in the Fine Arts Building of the campus.

Yesterday, I wrote about the Jacksonville Daily News allowing their conservative (read as Republican) bias to show.
In today’s print edition, the editorial staff printed an explanation and accepted responsibility for the error and republished the corrected letter.

I was looking out the window today and noticed a uniformed Jacksonville Police Officer on an official Jacksonville Police Department bicycle. This, in and of itself, is unremarkable.
